125 WATT RMS INTERNAL POWER AMPLIFIER WITH NEW ACTIVE HEADROOM MAXIMIZER II
M&K's new amplifier technology means greater output and dynamic range from its 125 watt RMS power amplifier. M&K's ACTIVE HEADROOM MAXIMIZER II circuit insures maximum output and full signal dynamics while preventing amplifier clipping, allowing the MX-70B to achieve full RMS power with tremendous dynamic headroom, producing both high output levels and critical musical articulation.
And the MX-70B is fully certified to UL, CSA, and IEC 65 electrical safety standards by ETL Testing Laboratories.
PUSH-PULL DUAL DRIVER DEEP BASS CONFIGURATION
M&K's Push-Pull Dual Driver Configuration delivers a major improvement in bass detail and articulation by virtually eliminating even-order harmonic distortion and doubling the sound power per watt of amplifier power to produce as much as 6 dB in additional output! The MX-70B's Deep Bass design produces deep bass output down to frequencies well below 20 Hz.
Conventional small cabinet "subwoofers" (especially ones with passive radiators or vented boxes) have an extremely sharp rolloff starting around 40 or 50 Hz. M&K's design extends response to produce deep bass at frequencies we feel but can't hear - delivering a lifelike power and authority other subwoofers cannot match.
SUPERIOR SPEAKER DRIVER DESIGN
The MX-70B uses perhaps the industry's most advanced 8" subwoofer speaker driver for extremely tight, low distortion bass. Its exceptional performance comes from its many proprietary M&K design elements.
SUBWOOFER PHASE CONTROL & ADJUSTABLE LOW PASS FILTER
A two-position switch matches subwoofer and main speaker phase_without the muddy sound produced by variable phase controls. The MX-70B's 36 dB/octave low pass rolloff above 125 Hz makes it truly non-directional, and its "Low Pass Filter" control lets you set its upper rolloff anywhere between 50 and 125 Hz.
AVAILABLE IN WHITE
The MX-70B is available in a beautiful white finish with a white grillecloth. Its slightly off-white color fits extremely well into a wide variety of room environments. This new finish is a white version of M&K's Black Lacquer Bead (the MX-70B's standard finish). This very attractive finish is not only durable, but produces sound quality actually superior to M&K's natural and painted veneer cabinets.
